How Can You Treat Your Friable Cervix?

The treatment of a friable cervix that is recommended by your doctor depends upon the cause of the condition and symptoms that you are facing.  Your doctor will perform a thorough exam on your genitals and the reproductive tract. The doctor will prescribe some medications and lifestyle changes that may help you deal with the disorder.

Friable cervix due to cervical disorders

The cervical disorders may require different treatments depending upon the type of disorder. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical polyps can be removed through colposcopy and then get tested for cancer. The cervical ectropion usually goes away on its own but if it does not, it may be cauterized or burnt off. The treatment of cervical cancer depends on the stage of cancer. The possible treatments for cervical cancer are radiotherapy, surgery, chemotherapy, or removal of the abnormal cells through laser or cone biopsy.

Friable cervix due to sexually transmitted diseases

The friable cervix caused due to sexually transmitted diseases can be treated by treating the underlying condition. If the underlying disease is chlamydia, the doctor will recommend some antibiotics to cure it. Similarly, sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea and trichomonas’s need medications to get treated. It is possible that diseases may leave permanent effects and damage.

Friable cervix due to viral infections

Considering the treatment of viral infections such as genital herpes or human papillomavirus, there is actually no cure for it. But the symptoms of these can be cut down through other treatments.

Friable cervix due to vaginal atrophy

If the reason for your friable cervix is vaginal atrophy due to hormonal imbalance, your doctor will prescribe you hormonal therapy, lotions, oils, creams, and gels to treat the vaginal dryness problems. You can be given dilators to make sex easier for you by dilating the vagina slowly. Hormone replacement therapy can help to relieve the symptoms of vaginal atrophy and ultimately help to treat the friable cervix caused due to it. It can help to thicken the tissues of the cervix and vagina and help to balance the pH environment.

Some doctors and studies have suggested that probiotic supplements, green tea, and yogurt can help relieve gynecological disorders. But it must be kept in mind that these can just be used as supplements and not medical treatments.

If you fail to get treated at the right time, it can cause serious problems such as pelvic inflammatory disease or cervical cancer.
